What is the difference between a freckle and a beauty mark?

My friends are telling me a beauty mark is a dark freckle, but I'm thinking it's like a mole, it's raised. How do these differentiate? |||beauty mark is a mole and freckles are from the sun sometimes they can somtimes be not noticable|||i think beauty marks are moles
