What is beauty school like and doing hair?

I am in high school and I really need to start thinking of a job to do out of high school. Something I have a passion for is hair makeup skin and fashion. I would really like to go to beauty school (considering Paul Mitchell right now) out of high school, but I was wondering what beauty school is like, and what the actual field of being a hairstylist is like for people that have experienced it. Whats the pay like? Whats the pro's and con's to it? Would opening your own business be the smart thing to do?
